home Our Difference

Leadership coaching is about enhancing business performance. This is achieved by creating meaningful conversations with individual business leaders and top teams. This typically takes place in 1:1 meetings or facilitated workshops within the context of a trusted and developing relationship. It adds value both immediately and over time. Practically the value is captured in new insights (both personal and business) which are acted upon and make a difference to the performance of the business.

Our Approach
As a business leader what you do matters. You make a difference to the performance of the business and to people’s lives. This is a very exciting, challenging and privileged position. We believe that as a leader, being bold and commercial is the way to deliver exceptional results. In working with LCB we think your experience of us should reflect these views.

It matters: bold & commercial

Questions We Are Frequently Asked: - Click the question bar to reveal the answer...

How do you understand the business and individual context / what diagnostic tools do you use?

We engage with clients in a whole range of different situations. It is important for both the client and for us to develop a common understanding of their context as quickly as possible. This can be achieved in a variety of ways including individual conversations with the client(s), offsites with the top team, meetings with their boss / colleagues and formal diagnostics including 360 and psychometrics. We pride ourselves on our ability to understand the context and add value very quickly. In our experience the process of doing this also helps the clients develop new and valuable insights for themselves.

What Experience / Qualifications Do Your Partners Have?

All our partners have been working with top teams and business leaders for over ten years. Those of us who work with corporate clients are exceptional individual coaches as well as powerful facilitators of workshops. All of us who are involved with entrepreneurial business have direct experience of working with start up businesses and have set up and run our own businesses.

Between us we have a wide range of experience and diverse relevant qualifications. Internally we run regular workshops to strengthen our common views and develop new insights.

How Do You Review The Coaching Relationship?

Whilst we have worked with many of our clients for several years we believe it is important to keep the relationship fresh. We therefore expect to regularly review ( every 6-12 months ) the nature of the relationship and the objectives going forward. Where appropriate this review often includes a third party eg Chairman or HR Director.

Do Your Partners Have Supervision?

Each LBC coach is partnered with another to work through their professional challenges, clients and personal development. We also all use external sounding boards to ensure a healthy external perspective.

How Do You Work With The Boss And The Team?

We can add considerable value by working with the whole team including “the boss”. Clearly this raises issues of confidentiality but we find these can be addressed by being explicit about the relationship and acknowledging the issues.  In practice we find that clients quickly come to appreciate the benefits and feel comfortable with this way of working.
